It's DONE! Took about 6 days to complete one side. I did EVERYTHING freehand. No tape, no stencils, nothing. I did it all with a paintbrush. I'm actually proud of how it turned out.
I'm cosplaying as Commander Shepard for this year's International Comic Con in San Diego(as well as a few others like the midnight release of ME3). I will be dressed in her casual uniform, the one worn when she is on the Normandy.
I didn't want to do one that is seen in Mass Effect, I wanted my own design to be proud of. So I took a bunch of reference photos and began working away. Shortly after starting, I received the Game Informer magazine with the article on ME3. They mentioned completely customizable weapons so now my gun will fit right in!
It wasn't designed after any in particular. It was a mix of some of the shotguns and assault rifles in the game. Also it was my first attempt at anything like this. xD
Awesome! I would definitely love to see that when it's done. Send me a link when you are done painting it. I love modifying Nerf guns. The look on people's faces is priceless when you tell them it's a Nerf... especially with the Cain I just made.
Yeah, I saw the Cain. Now that was *puts on shades* Impressive! I'm probably gonna upload it at the same time as my Pip-Boy iPhone case (not as good as some others I've seen on the web, but it works pretty well)
This is actually one really tough gun. I've dropped it a few times and it didn't crack or break, not even a dent. I've thought about doing fiberglass on them... but this one is fine, possibly on my Cain since the bit that connects the front is fairly frail.
